Frequently asked questions
Everything about how Spaceillion works — prompts, rarity, scoring and your flight log.
what is spaceillion?
Spaceillion is a free daily trivia game played in your browser. Each day brings seven category prompts — like “name a moon in our solar system” or “name a cheese” — and you have 25 seconds to type one answer. Common answers barely leave the launch pad; rare answers send your pixel rocket soaring past the Moon, the planets and out of the galaxy.
is it free?
Yes. The daily launch is free to play every day, on phones, tablets and computers. No download needed.
is there a new game every day?
Yes — seven new prompts every day at midnight UTC, the same for everyone, so you can compare your launch with friends. Past days are in the archive.
how does it work?
Every day there are seven prompts, the same for everyone. You get 25 seconds to name one answer. The rarer your answer, the further your rocket flies — from the launch pad, past the Moon and the planets, out of the Milky Way and all the way to the edge of the observable universe.
how is rarity decided?
By what other pilots actually say. Every prompt starts with a curated ranking, and once enough people have launched, rarity comes from real answers: if lots of pilots gave the same answer it is Space Junk, if almost nobody did it is a Nebula — the result screen shows the exact share. Each prompt also hides one hand-picked gem: One in a Spaceillion.
what is “too clever”?
The go-to “obscure” pick that isn’t actually obscure. Everyone trying to be clever lands on it, so it barely flies.
why was my answer rejected?
Either it isn’t in the answer set or we missed it. You can try again until the clock runs out. Small typos are caught by autocorrect — you’ll be asked to confirm the correction.
is the distance real?
The landmarks are! The altitude readout uses real distances to each place you pass, compressed so the whole universe fits in 700 points.
do I need an account?
Not yet. Your streak and history are saved in this browser.
